Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but fragile characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. When she was a child, spending summers in the home of her father her interest grew for the stage. Following her studies in Brown University for a while before transferring to Juilliard School to study acting. In the two years following her graduation she started her Broadway career. The following year, she began her career she was on television. Since then, she has appeared appearing in a variety of films, TV shows and stage performances. She has won many awards during her professional career. These include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. Yet, despite the array of awards, theatre has remained her first love and she continues to perform both on screen and on stage.
