Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination in the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. She also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on the cast of a comedy.
Anne, her mother, performed in church plays as a child that instilled a love for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna's mother Anne was a performer in church dramas when she was younger This sparked her passion for theater.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, who is a trained actress in the theater, went back to her roots. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy. She then starred in Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower. It was an absurd comedy piece starring Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The cast of the show, including Angela Kinsey (the character mate to Fischer) and her actual best friend Angela Kinsey, who is from The Office, started a podcast in the month of October. It was titled Office Ladies. The show is now extremely well-known and has been a part of the Top Ten every single week. Its initial year, it had more than 200,000,000 downloads. In the beginning of January, 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She has written two books: The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide in which she describes her experience in Hollywood acting as a professional and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends who were There, an account of the most memorable friendship they had as well as their experience in The Office.
